2000Black Presents ‘Levels of Consciousness’ LIve. A rare live performance from an ever growing catalogue of genre-defying music from the African diaspora. Learning from the past and looking towards the future, the 2000BLACK collective, named after a 1975 Roy Ayers’ recording, was established in 1998 by Dego. Producing and performing any genre of music rooted in funk, soul, jazz, hip hop and pushing its boundaries to form contemporary innovations.
Russell Elevado (Q&A + DJ Set)
One of the most acclaimed engineers in the modern analogue world, mixing timeless classics such as Voodoo by D’angelo, Mama’s Gun by Erykah Badu, Like Water For Chocolate by Common and Heaven and Earth by Kamasi Washington to name a few. He is also co-founder of Analogue Foundation and will be in discussion about all thing analogue as well as treating us all with a special DJ Set.

An exclusive preview of the second instalment of the much loved ‘Examples’ instrumental offering on First Word Records which will be released later this year.
This event is curated by Eric Lau on behalf of Analogue Foundation in with an emphasis on creating a future for analogue and will be held at Giant Steps a temporary event space installed with a custom sound system tuned and supplied by Brilliant Corners.
